BIOGRAPHY

Manijéh René Pickard conducts the Temple Music Prep Youth Harp Ensemble and teaches individual lessons on harp by special arrangement. Pickard has established herself as an active music educator and performer in the Philadelphia area over the last four years. She is both the harp and piano Teaching Artist with Play On Philly, an El Sistema-inspired program in Philadelphia, and she is on faculty at the Community Music School in Trappe, PA. In addition to maintaining her own private teaching studio, Manijéh is the director for the Temple Music Prep Youth Harp Ensemble. She served three years as the President of the KC Lyra Chapter and is currently the President of the Philadelphia Harp Chapter of the American Harp Society. Manijéh has taught general music, band, and strings as a substitute music teacher in the Olathe and Blue Valley school districts in Kansas. Graduating with honors from MidAmerica Nazarene University, she received a bachelor of arts degree in both Music Performance and Music Pedagogy under the tutelage of Deborah Wells Clark, Principal Harpist of the Kansas City Symphony. Manijéh also holds a bachelor of Music Education in which she graduated with honors from Pi Lambda Theta.
