Graduate students in the Boyer College of Music and Dance may apply for the following types of financial aid. Unless otherwise noted, awards are open to both master’s and doctoral students. All awards are highly competitive and presume a background of academic and artistic excellence. All graduate applicants are automatically considered for the awards below.

Fellowships

Applicants must be fully admitted to the University by February 1. Awards are usually determined by April 15 and are made only after a student has been fully accepted into the Graduate School and into a specific graduate program.

Graduate Dance Applicants

All graduate applicants to the dance department may apply for a graduate assistantship by selecting the appropriate box on their supplemental dance program application form. Qualified applicants who meet the application deadline will be invited for a teaching audition, which involves teaching a class for dance majors or general education students on Monday or Tuesday following the general audition/interview day. Applicants will be contacted after their audition/interview if they are being invited to audition for a teaching assistantship.

Professional Studies Certificate Students

Tuition scholarships are available for Professional Studies Certificate students, however Graduate Assistantships (including Teaching Assistantships, Academic Internships and Research Assistantships) are not available.
