All undergraduate applicants must submit a Common Application (inclusive of the application fee) and supporting materials to their applicant portal before scheduling their audition or submitting recorded materials on Acceptd. To check on your application status, please check back with Undergraduate Admissions.
The checklist for all undergraduate programs is below.
First year applicants are highly encouraged to complete the Self-reported Transcript and Academic Record System (STARS) to expedite the review of their application. The STARS is the best tool for us to evaluate your high school courses and grades. After you've applied and set up your applicant portal, you can link directly to the STARS.
For transfer students, we need transcripts from all institutions you may have attended (or are currently attending), and your final high school transcript if you have less than 30 college credits completed. Do not send us your transcripts until after activating your applicant portal to ensure proper completion of your application.
Please have your transcripts sent to us electronically directly from the school’s transcript service. Select Temple University Admissions as the recipient. Please do not send us a transcript via email or prior to submitting an application. These will be discarded.
Temple is a test-optional school. First-year students can apply without submitting standardized test scores by selecting test-optional on the Common Application.

If you elect to instead send standardized test scores, we accept both the SAT and the ACT.
Although letters of recommendation are optional for undergraduate applicants, Boyer College of Music and Dance highly suggests submitting at least one (1) and no more than two (2) letters of recommendation. All letters of recommendation should be submitted to the applicant's portal.
If an applicant is auditioning in-person, they will be responsible for providing their résumé/CV.
If an applicant is submitting a video audition or submitting a portfolio via Acceptd, submit your résumé/CV via Acceptd.
BM Music Composition and BS Music Technology require applicants to submit their Statement of Purpose via Acceptd as part of their portfolio.
Students applying to BS Music can send their Statement of Purpose to music@temple.edu.
The remaining Boyer undergraduate programs do not require a Statement of Purpose.
