Rachel Freivogel is the founding and current cellist of the Jasper String Quartet. At Prep, she teaches cello by special arrangement and is a CGYM Chamber Ensembles coach. Freivogel received degrees from Yale University (Artist Diploma), Rice University (MM String Quartet) and Oberlin Conservatory of Music (BM Cello Performance; MM Historical Performance). With the JSQ, she has received the Cleveland Quartet Award and the Fischoff Educator Award, recorded 5 albums, commissioned numerous works and performed around the world. In addition to performing, Ms. Freivogel enjoys teaching and is also a Co-Artistic Director of Jasper Chamber Concerts, a chamber music series in Chestnut Hill, PA.
