Anna Meyer is currently an Artist-in-Residence at Temple University where she teaches applied flute and coaches chamber music. Anna is a Program Coordinator for Play On Philly!, an after-school music intensive program in Center City, Philadelphia. Her love for her students in this program as well as her desire for an engaging method book inspired her to write her own method book for beginner flutists: The Monster Flute Method Book, a Beginner’s Guide, which is available for purchase on Amazon. Additionally, Anna collaborates often with her organist husband, playing concerts across the eastern United States. They recently commissioned five new works for the unique duo and released a CD (Fantasmagoria) of those works. Anna also performs as a founding member of the Lyra Ensemble, a Philadelphia-based flute ensemble.

This method book is designed with the beginner in mind. Monsters Mavis, Joel, and Sam seek to entertain and to help teach along the path to becoming monster flute players. They have the same successes and set-backs as I see in my students, and I hope their empathy will resonate with all young flute students.
