Alessandra Tiraterra, DMA, NCTM, was born in Rome, Italy. She started playing the piano at the age of six. She has drawn the attention of the musical world when she started concertizing at the age of 14 as a solo recitalist. She has performed hundreds of concerts for festivals and institutions in the U.S. and in Europe (Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in New York City, Rialto Center for the Arts in Atlanta, Wiener Saal in Salzburg, Salle Cortot in Paris, Teatro Ghione and Teatro di Marcello in Rome, etc.). As a chamber musician, in Europe she has collaborated in concerts with members of the Academia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra, of the Roma Classica Orchestra, and of the Solisti Aquilani Orchestra; in the U.S. she was the pianist of the Alfredo Barili Piano Quartet during her time in Georgia. Winner of many national and international piano competitions and prizes, she received the integrated bachelor and master of music degrees in piano performance at the "A. Casella" Conservatory of Music in Italy at the age of 20. She continued her studies in piano performance in Europe at the École Normale de Musique de Paris "A. Cortot," France, and at the Mozarteum Universität in Salzburg, Austria, and in the U.S. at Georgia State University in Atlanta and at Temple University in Philadelphia. She owes her formation to renowned pianists and pedagogues of her time (Charles Abramovic, Sergio Perticaroli, Marcella Crudeli, Joaquin Soriano and Sergei Dorensky). She is an active member of CMS (College Music Society), MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) and EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) and was invited several times by these societies for performances and presentations in their conferences at the national and international level. She often teaches master classes and is invited as a jury member of piano competitions. She dedicates to research in music and has been invited to give talks, lecture recitals and performances by colleges, conferences and institutions in the U.S. and in Europe. She has published with Dante University of America Press.
