Biography
Randi Marrazzo enjoys a rich musical life as a voice teacher, researcher, and performer. She has taught voice at the University of Delaware, West Chester University, Westminster Choir College, Temple University and privately. Her students have performed in opera companies, churches, choirs and theaters in the U.S. and abroad.
Marrazzo’s passion for uncovering songs by women prompted her to work with Sylvia Glickman, founder of Hildegard Publishing Company, and with Glickman’s blessing, she edited a series of art song books for the young singer entitled, The First Solos: Songs by Women Composers, in high, medium and low editions. She also co-founded a Philadelphia-area concert series called Lyric Fest, that presented over 40 theme-based voice recitals. In 2018, Marrazzo co-founded A Modern Reveal with Nicole Leone, to tell the stories of women composers of song through history. The organization’s advocacy and research of Italian women composers led to the first ever publication of 24 Italian Songs and Arias by Women Composers in 2020 and 24 French Songs and Arias by Women Composers, in January 2024.
Marrazzo holds degrees in music education from the University of Delaware, a master of music from Catholic University, and completed post-graduate opera studies at the Curtis Institute of Music. She performed leading roles professionally with New York City Opera, Opera Philadelphia and Sarasota Opera. She also presented recitals including composer biographies at universities and libraries throughout the Northeast. All her ongoing projects feature songs and stories by women as an integral part of her work.
