Dr. Steven Zohn, Laura H. Carnell Professor of Music Studies, was consulted by The New York Times regarding a performance for the Boston Early Music Festival. A Telemann scholar, Zohn commented on the rarely performed Pimpinone, a "long-obsolete genre of classical music, the intermezzo, a short comedy intended to be broken up and performed between the acts of a dramatic or tragic opera" (The New York Times).
