Dr. Elivi Varga has taught music courses at Temple University since 2019. She performs as a flutist throughout the Philadelphia area, with recent appearances at Longwood Gardens, Philadelphia Ethical Society, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and with the Reading Choral Society. She frequently serves as a clinician and adjudicator at festivals and competitions throughout the region. Her recording, Silver Tunes: Music for Flute and Organ, features world-premiere recordings of music by Lowell Liebermann and Augusta Read Thomas. Dr. Varga’s articles on music have appeared in The Flutist Quarterly, The Philadelphia Inquirer and elsewhere. She studied at Goucher College, the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, and earned a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Illinois. Visit elivi.com for more information.
