This fall, Temple Music Prep hosted a variety of guest artists and saw many successes among its students, alumni and faculty.
In October, Temple Music Prep continued its cultural exchange partnership with the Tónskóli Sigursveins D. Kristinssonar, based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Visiting students from Iceland spent the week rehearsing, performing and engaging in master classes here in Philadelphia, including a joint master class with the Center for Gifted Young Musicians (CGYM) featuring Music Prep alumna and violist Sheila Browne. Videos from their concert at the Trinity Center for Urban Life can be found on Temple Music Prep's YouTube channel.
In November, members of the Navy Band of the Northeast Brass Quintet (pictured above) visited Temple Music Prep's Community Music Scholars Program (CMSP). The Quintet led a Q&A discussion and performed for CMSP wind and brass students, sharing their unique stories and musical interests along the way.
