The Music Studies Colloquium series is designed to broaden the academic experience of our students. Notable past guest scholars include Augusta Read Thomas, Daniel Chua, Deidre Chadwick, David Lang, J Bradley Rogers, Andrew Talle, Lei Bryant and Elijah Wald.  Topics include composition practice, pedagogy, historical research, ethnomusicology, and theoretical analysis. Through the series, students gain exposure to a wider range of ideas than would be available in the typical classroom experience. Additionally, they are able to create valuable connections with scholars in their field.
