BIOGRAPHY

Ashley Vines teaches individual lessons in Suzuki and traditional viola or violin and conducts the CMSP String Ensembles at Temple Music Prep. Vines began her music studies as a student in the School District of Philadelphia and is a Temple Music Prep alumna. She earned a BM in Performance from Temple University and was a viola student of Renard Edwards. She was a recipient of the 2016-2017 IRIS Artist Fellowship, a residency program where she performed in a chamber ensemble with a focus on community outreach, and taught as a community engagement fellow through Memphis Music Initiative at Caldwell-Guthrie Elementary School. She is violin and viola teaching artist with Musicopia, Philadelphia Youth Orchestra's Tune Up Philly, ensemble director through Temple University’s Community Music Scholars Program and is also a registered Suzuki instructor who studied under Marilyn O'Boyle, Martha Shackford, and Linda Fiore. Vines is a member of IRIS Orchestra and as freelance musician, she has performed with groups such as Bay Atlantic Symphony, Symphony in C, Riverside Sinfonia, Eboni Strings, and more. Ashley has also performed in masterclasses with artists such as the Nokuthula Nqwenyama, and members of the Emerson, Ceruti Quartet and Aizuri String Quartet.
